Rectangular jardinière: Kangxi Imp period, four-legged bulb holder, of the transitional period - Qing Dynasty.
The walls are openwork with a sort of openwork lattice (ling lung). The Chinese used to fill these trays with water and place a piece of tuff in the center, inside which they sowed wild herbs.
In examining the object, Prof. Ye Zhemin, commented that it was early Qing, Kangxi, or perhaps even slightly earlier, Jingdezhen.
