Jiajing Imp period, Qing Dynasty curved wall plate and lobed rim. In the center, two peaches and a bat, both symbols of happiness. A radial pattern of leaves with white ribs extends towards the edge, on which rest a dragonfly, a beetle, a ladybug, a grasshopper and a butterfly with pink, green, blue and orange enamels.
Fr. Toscano, in his catalog, writes: 'The Pink Family shows us a decoration that came into fashion in the Jiajing period, consisting of large leaves with large white ribs or often chestnut leaves. The leaves alternate in green-blue and green: the ribs are in white-arsenic which will be used a lot throughout this century. There are also the colors pink, iron red and yellow and the color gold'.
