Large Vase

Large ceramic vase with zoomorphic handles, porcelain of the green family, made at the beginning of the 20th century, late Imp. Guang Xu - Qing Dynasty. Polychrome enamel colors on a white background.
In a China troubled by secret society rebellions, there is the period called 'Ceramics of Decadence'. The imitation of the Song pieces continues and there are no substantial differences with the pieces produced towards the end of the Qianlong era. In the polychrome decorations, everything that is not imperial reveals all its degeneration: approximate decorations, coarser enamel colors, less fine and grayer paste, more opaque grounds and varnishes.
In the Museum since 1930. From Henan.
