Everything found in ancient tombs, whether vases or figures of animals or human beings, is called 'mingqi': bright, sacred ornament.
There are two main types of pottery from the time of the Han: the traditional pottery made from unglazed gray clay (three animals), sometimes decorated with cold red or white pigments. The real novelty of the time, however, is the use of the glaze: on the red clay, a paint based on lead oxide is spread, often colored in copper green, which resembles the bronze patinas (vase/container).
