Lupepe figurine against epilepsy
Statue in upright position characterized by a large oval head on the face of which are large protruding eyes surrounded by punctiform incisions, used for healing rites for epileptics.
It is called Lupepe and is used by both the mwami and the kanyama together, during the rites for healing from epilepsy (malari ya ndeghe), which can last for a whole month.
It comes from Ntombi (Shabunda).
