The Great Pangolin Ikaga
A large wooden pangolin, recalling the importance and significance of the cult of the large pangolin (Ikaga). The pangolin is a mild animal, but it frightens the Lega due to the rules that accompany the consumption of its meat.
When a pangolin is caught, all bami sing and dance; when the pangolin is caught in a trap or in its den (muzinga), it must be taken to a specific village (Ibagilo), by a wise mwami who is in charge of this task.
It comes from Penekusu (Shabunda).
