Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) Ban Liang (half-liang) coin, bronze.
Qin Shi Huang Di pacified the territory under his own Qin Dynasty, which lasted only 14 years (221-206 BC). Considered the first Emperor (Huang Di) of China, he also gave his name to the whole of China and unified writing, weights and measures and also the previous fragmented coinage, imposing a single currency, the Ban Liang, or half a liang.
