Diadem Me-àkkà Pari, fan-shaped diadem very significant and typical of the Kayapò. Small segments of cane arranged in a fan and tied together by cotton threads on which feathers of different colors and lengths are inserted. In addition to what is described in detail in object 'kpo0371', there are about twenty different 'àkkà-pari' - literally bird wings. This diadem is part of the kit of the 'warrior' Kayapò. It is used in the marriage ceremony and by two heralds who sing and dance in preparation for feasts of nomination.
