Me-àkkà Pari diadem, very significant and typical 'fan' diadem of the Kayapò. This type of diadem is part of the 'Me-kutam' of which it constitutes the most conspicuous and significant part. The actual plumary ornament, made up of feathers fixed to a structure of straws tied together with cotton thread, rests on a beeswax helmet worn on the head. Much attention is paid to the symmetry and polychromy of colors.
