The scene represents a wader, which stands on one leg, on a rock, and in the act of eating a fish. Seven ideograms at the top left: 'Painting of Shen Shi, the native of Qingmen Mountain', followed by a seal.
From the inspection of Prof. Luo Shiping: 'Painting by Shen Shi (1488-1565), called Qing Men Shan Ren, Ming Dynasty. This painter mainly painted landscapes; this painting is done with mastery, as can be seen from the use of brush and color; paper and color are ancient. There are few works left by this author, so it is an important piece'.
