The Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography, in partnership with the Diocesan Museum of Parma, the Professional Association Psychè, and the Italian Alzheimer's Patient Association (AIMA Onlus), was considered the second classified project of "Culture for all, the culture of all".

The call "Cultura per tutti, cultura di tutti" is part of the program of Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020-21, a project promoted by the Municipality of Parma in partnership with the Institute of artistic, cultural and natural heritage of Emilia-Romagna. The Table of Disabilities of the Municipality of Parma and the scientific coordination of Promo PA Foundation also collaborated to this initiative
Our project is entitled "Together at the museum: Guided tours of the Piazza Duomo in Parma, the Diocesan Museum, and the Museo d’Arte Cinese ed Etnografico" for people with cognitive challenges and their caregivers. It is a project in partnership with the Diocesan Museum of Parma, the Diocese of Parma, our museum and the Xaverian Cultural Foundation, the Professional Association Psychè and the Italian Alzheimer's Patient Association (AIMA Onlus).
The winners were announced “online” on a May 18th streaming ceremony, with the following participants: Michele Guerra, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Parma, Roberto Balzani, President of the Institute for artistic, cultural and natural heritage of the Emilia-Romagna region, Francesca Velani, coordinator of cultural projects and strategies of Parma2020-21, and Flora Raffa Director of the Youth Culture and Strategic Development Sector of the Municipality of Parma.
In addition, the interviews of the representatives of the 5 winners, among the 43 initiatives presented, on the occasion of this meaningful day, the International Museum Day, dedicated to "Museums for equality: diversity and inclusion". A virtual opportunity dedicated to ideas and projects that intend to improve and expand the accessibility of regional museums.
“With the project “Together with the Museum” - explains Chiara Allegri, spokesperson for the project and head of events and marketing for the Chinese Art Museum -, together with the Professional Association Psychè and the Italian Alzheimer's Patient Association (AIMA Onlus), we turned our attention to people with cognitive challenges and their caregivers: family members, home assistants, operators. The Diocesan Museum and the Chinese Art Museum of Parma are engaged in projects of inclusion of people of different cultural backgrounds, and above all they are accessible to everyone and people with 'special needs'. It will be an inclusive and non-therapeutic activity.”
The intent is to promote the dignity of the ill person with the inclusion in the civil, social and cultural life of the city, by promoting access to places of art, history and culture so as to maintain relational skills and provide new stimuli to the care-relationship between the sick and their caregivers through pleasant initiatives, in environments of particular artistic beauty, and outside the usual domestic places.
