Discovering the Amazon

An immersive journey for girls and boys aged 4 to 9 will be held on Friday 24 November at 5pm entitled "Discovering the Amazon"
On Friday 24 November at 5pm in the spaces of the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography of Parma, thanks to the fascinating mixture of distant cultures, an immersive journey will take place involving children entitled "Discovering the Amazon".
The young participants will meet the Kayapò, a people who call themselves "Mebêngôkre", "the people who came from the water". They inhabit the Amazon forest of Brazil and live in villages that normally have a circular structure with the common house in the middle, the organizational center of all village life.
They give great importance to the various festivals during which they relive, in the ritual of dance and joy, the time of their ancestors and their birth as a people. The Museum collects spectacular ornaments of bird feathers, an art in which this people is now recognized as one of the most skilled. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the most significant aspects of this culture: body painting, feather art and craft objects.
The immersive journey is a project developed from an idea by the librarian and expert in childhood narratives, Silvia Tòfani, who will accompany the young participants on an engaging journey, divided into a first guided tour led by Laura Ferrari.
An extraordinary experience dedicated to little explorers who love discovering distant peoples and their bond with nature. A mother nature that welcomes and gives life, to be respected and protected..
It will be a sensorial walk which, also with the help of imagination, will lead us into the depths of the great forest and will end with a splendid and exciting animated reading..
This unique moment is designed to stimulate curiosity and love for nature, shaping young minds and hearts.
