An immersive journey for girls and boys aged 5 to 9 will be held on Friday 27 October at 4 pm at the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography, Parma
The great human migrations are always accompanied by songs: a reason for identity and pride, a melodic instrument of comfort, a vehicle of communication, a cultural code.
Friday October 27th at 4 pm in the spaces of our Museum, thanks to the fascinating mix of distant cultures, an immersive journey entitled "Singing for the world in search of the tiger" will take place which will involve children as they will enhance everyone's individual sensations, so as to make this experience unique and precious for each little participant, thanks to the emotion of singing, storytelling and travelling.
A project developed from an idea by the librarian and expert on childhood narratives, Silvia Tòfani, who will accompany the young participants on an engaging journey, divided into a first guided tour led by Laura Ferrari. This will be followed by a moment dedicated to reading which will end with a Lakota song, typical of Native Americans, sung by our expert reader.
The research will follow the path of the ethnographic museum collections, starting from Africa, continuing in the Amazon area and concluding in the wonderful imperial China. The objective will be to reach the Chinese tiger, using the teachings of the peoples of the Earth.
“The great project of enhancement of the Chinese Art Museum continues - says Chiara Allegri, director of the Museum - which sees a fundamental point in bringing children closer to the cultures of the world. Furthermore, songs, narrations, symbols and every intangible and immaterial cultural element are structural elements of our collections: events like this have a high transmission capacity, allowing them to be saved in a globalizing context".
Silvia Tòfani continues: “Reading a good book can be compelling so as to allow our imagination to engage and take flight, but it rarely overwhelms us. This experience is designed to prioritize immediacy and perception because immersion requires us to submit to our senses. The transmission of culture is not just a matter of feeling, but also a way to know and understand the world in all its facets".
