Events & Photos 2018 at our Museum

Events organized with associations in 2018, at the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography of Parma
There have been so many events in 2018 that have kept us busy, and we want to thank the participants and friends who supported us in the various initiatives. Particularly we are grateful to the many teachers who brought their classes for a journey into the museum "where cultures meet" "walking experiencing the world" that is less known and familiar to us, and understand customs and traditions, artworks and traditions we know little.
On Sunday, September 16th, we began "new openings, new activities and new spaces for a new museum". We also wondered how to fit the "3500 participants" of the first Sunday opening, event on the Museo Cinese Parma Facebook ... to come to know that a digital "click" is not a ticket at the reception (thankfully). Facebook and Instagram have been added to the restyling of the museum site (we hope you enjoy it!), and we welcome your suggestions.
For little wanderers of the museum, we have created educational workshops on travel and world's wisdom, and readings with "La Voce delle Formiche".
For the public, we joined the Verdi Off Festival with music in the museum entitled "Il Suono Verdiano". We have developed "Museum Walks", "Readings by Amitabha Buddha", and book presentations. Let's not forget the Christmas gatherings of various companies and associations, as well as some tourist busses who visited us to enjoy this cultural place of Parma.
We collaborated with "Il Cinese in Città", the project of the Artètipi Association that won the competition IBC "Youth for the territory" of the region Emilia-Romagna 2018. The competition is open to youth associations for innovative projects for the enhancement and promotion of cultural heritage. Artètipi has conceived and created “The Chinese in the City - Il Cinese in Città” in collaboration with the Museum, the Classical High School Romagnosi, the Intercultural Center of Parma and province, and the journalist Enrico Gotti. It produced a short promo video clip, "Il Cinese in città" directed by Gianpaolo Bigoli, and the leaflet "Treasure Hunt for little explorers - Caccia al tesoro per piccoli esploratori". Further it organized a series of children readings entitled "Cherries of Winter - Ciliegie d'Inverno" inspired by the museum's multicultural collections, and guided tours in Russian and Arabic for children and parents of these communities to enhance the languages of their countries of origin.
At the reception, you now find the giftshop, full of souvenirs of the museum, as well as publications and short-studies which describe our exhibits.
Finally, in December, we inaugurated the new exhibition entitled "Eternal Mothers - Madri Eterne", an intercultural journey through representations of motherhood; a journey around the world to discover the varied interpretations of the magical moment of motherhood. It will be on exhibit throughout 2019.
Pictured below are some photos of the events: we thank the faithful friends who participated in these (and other) events!
