The project of appreciation of the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography begins
Founded in 1901 thanks to a donation by Senator Lampertico to Msgr. Guido Conforti, founder of the Xaverian Missionaries, the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography (which has undergone a radical renovation in 2012) is ready for an important project of appreciation and enhancement.
Pearl of the ethnographic culture of Parma, the Museum will enter a new season in the fall.
For Father Alfredo Turco, "the creation of a museum highlights the desire to be opened to the knowledge of cultures. The opportunity of a radical intervention on the structure of the museum offers the opportunity to organize new educational workshops so as to learn about the cultures and peoples of the world."
New staff was added for this new project of the Museum.
Chiara Allegri, head of marketing and events, says: "The objective is to bring the most diverse audiences closer to the Museum. In the fall, a narrative Museum will take shape, where the stories of the people will contaminate each other so as to strengthen its message of universality, with no boundaries or barriers: an adventure of exploration."
New collaborations are confirmed to guarantee the highest quality in every area of the Museum. The psychologist Francesca Ferrari Pellegrini will coordinate the educational workshops, oriented to schools of every grade, and thus bring children and young people to explore travel, peoples and inter-cultural aspects.
Antonio Pupa, social media coordinator, recently opened the Facebook and Instagram channels of the Museum.
The research aspects are still matched by the Xaverian Missionaries who have known and worked in the countries of the pieces exhibited in the Museum. Frs. Marco Campagnolo, Andrea Tam and Renato Trevisan are already working for the upcoming exhibitions.
We highlight two events in September, with the Museum's participation at "Verdi off" Festival and the project "Chinese in the city", of the Artetipi association.
Starting in September, the Museum will extend its opening hours in the afternoon and on Sundays.
