Culture beats time
Parma has been chosen to be the Italian capital of culture 2020, as announced by Dario Franceschini (MiBACT), after the evaluation of the jury chaired by Stefano Baia Curioni. “Parma is a virtuous example of high quality in the territory with cultural roots.”
With its 2200 years of history, Parma is a city that has always been a protagonist of the Emilia region, and boasts a rich and varied culture: an enviable musical tradition, a strong tradition of food and wine, an architectural richness.
“It’s a cultural structure with an excellent contribution - continues the jury's motivation - realized with a precise attention to the youth, and to the integration between artistic disciplines".
“Culture beats time” is the slogan of Parma 2020.
“Time”: its revival through culture, the rhythm of city life that breaks down historical and social barriers through processes of sharing and growth.
At the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography, we are getting ready to welcome this educational and cultural opportunity of Parma, the Italian Capital of Culture 2020, by contributing through the meeting of cultures,
proposing “a Journey into the Harmony of Art in Cultures.”
