AHYMÉ – Three days dedicated to African culture with RAY LEMA, GASANDJI, MOKOOMBA, BONI GNAHORÉ at our Museum.

On Sept. 27th, 28th and Oct. 14th we will hold the first edition of AHYMÉ, three days dedicated to African culture and music, with artists such RAY LEMA, the father of world music, African-pop singer GASANDJI, the MOKOOMBA band, the Ivorian singer and percussionist BONI GNAHORÉ, the singer DANIEL KOLLÉ who will perform a premiere piece written by GIOVANNI AMIGHETTI at the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography in PARMA (viale San Martino, 8). It will be an intercultural integration festival, envisioned and directed by Bessou Gnaly Woh, artist, musician , composer and author, President of the Association "Colori d'Africa - APS".
Ahymé is a festival that highlights how cultural integration can better value the artistic and cultural quality of a city and its population. A moment of encounter between people of different cultures, with the aim of sharing their traditions in the name of social inclusion.
The festival is divided into three days dedicated to African culture and music with artists who have marked the history of world music, and others who are receiving important approval: from the famous face of RAY LEMA, the leading symbol of African music, to the new African-pop promise GASANDJI, from the musical group MOKOOMBA that is establishing itself in the world with an electronic afro-fusion style with reggae, funk and rap forays, to the Ivorian singer BONI GNAHORÉ father and mentor of the first Ivorian winner of a Grammy Awards. Moreover, Cameroonian singer DANIEL KOLLÉ and the world music producer and composer GIOVANNI AMIGHETTI, who will preview a song specifically commissioned for this festival.
The initiative, carried out with the contribution of Fondazione Cariparma and the Comune of Parma, is included in the calendar of events of Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020.
In the course of these days, there will be meetings that will deal with specific topics related to intercultural integration between Africa, Italy and China, with the presence of institutional speakers, while in the evening there will be space for concerts and live music. Speakers at the meetings will include Gino Gandolfi, president of the Cariparma Foundation, Nadia Monacelli, director of CUCI the Center for International Cooperation at the University of Parma, Matilde Marchesini, president of Parma System Association for International Cooperation, geneticist Dadié Charles Dago, Professor Gabriele Costantino, head of the Food Project of the University of Parma, Enzo Gentile journalist RAI, Repubblica, Il Mattino essayist and professor at the Catholic University of Milan, Chiara Allegri marketing and events manager of the museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography Museum of Parma, Michele Guerra, Councilor for Culture and Youth Policies of the Comuney of Parma, Nicoletta Lia Rosa Paci, Councilor for international cooperation of the Municipality of Parma, Cécile Kyenge, former Minister for integration of the Italian Government, Zhang Changxiao (or Sean White) Chinese writer of the bestseller Creuza de Mao, who has introduced Italian singer-songwriters to China, promoter of Italian and international artists in China, winner of the Falcone-Borsellino Award.
The outside of the museum will host dance and shows with the possibility of tasting typical dishes of African culture, in spaces dedicated to street food.
Concert tickets can be purchased online on our website or at the ticket office of the museum, open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm, and Sunday from 11am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm.
